Cee Jay Price

Cee Jay is a young man who grew up in a very poor community on the east side of the island of Roatan. As a young man, he joined the ministry of Bread for the Bight in Punta Caliente as a worship and youth leader. Cee Jay is a very talented piano player and worship leader. Currently, he is attending Anderson University in Anderson Indiana - majoring in music with the intention of returning to Roatan to teach music to young people on the island.

While he is in the USA, he is limited in his ability to earn money, so Bay Island Impact is providing a way for people to donate money to help him with regular college expenses (food, entertainment, etc.).

Avery Maize

The Lord first began stirring Avery’s affections for Honduras in 2019 when she traveled with the University of Oklahoma Global Brigades to a rural community to host a medical and dental clinic. She went again in 2021 after graduating from the OU Dental Hygiene Program. Since then, God has continuously found ways to draw her back to Honduras. He has now given her the opportunity to serve longer term in San Marcos De Colon with Good Samaritan Baptist Mission. She plans to spend the summer or 2024 providing dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, and oral hygiene education to the children attending Good Samaritan Schools.

Avery previously worked at a pediatric dental office for two and a half years and is overjoyed to have to opportunity to combine her heart for dentistry and children while serving in Honduras. Her ultimate goal there is to serve others with the gifts God has given her and to share the love of Christ with them.

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace” 1 Peter 4:10

Because this is not a paid position, Avery will be support raising for all of her financial needs this summer. She is trying to raise $3,500 by May 18th to cover expenses like lodging & food ($150/week), roundtrip flights to and from Honduras, dental supplies & equipment and the cost of shipping these items.

Roatan Mission - Travis & Tish Morin

Roatan Mission Fellowship exists to be used of God to make disciples of Jesus Christ through His power, by His grace and for His glory. They do this through leading church services, ministering to the lost, serving in the community and living the gospel through our lives.

Roatan Mission is responsible for leading the ministries of R Church, a local fellowship on the island. They also support Spanish speaking churches on the island. They run the Special Treasures Dump Ministry which feeds people who work and live at the public landfill. Also, they raise funds each year to buy uniforms and supplies for the children so they can attend school. Roatan Mission works with children’s homes (orphanages), feeding prisoners & hospital patients, and they are heavily involved in a drug & alcohol rehab ministry called Jesus is the Solution. They also host mission teams throughout the year.

Bread for the Bight - David & Heather Granada

Bread for the Bight is a ministry whose focus is on the little community of Punta Caliente where they have a regular outreach on Friday mornings. This community is located on one of the many indentations or shallow bays (called bights) on the coastland of Roatan. Originally, the outreach was for children and only on Fridays - feeding the kids & providing Bible stories/activities while the adults hold a worship service. They have since expanded and now have church on Sunday evenings, men and women’s Bible studies on Mondays & Thursdays, as well as a day of fasting & prayer on Wednesdays.

Bread for the Bight has helped the people in this community start sustainable businesses, secure land for building, build homes, and get uniforms & school supplies so that they can get an education. They also host mission teams who help them do the work of meeting needs in Punta Caliente.

Global Outreach - James & Paula Anthony

James and Paula have been Global Outreach International missionaries in Central America since 1998, the last 13 of which have been in Honduras. In February 2017 James and Paula answered God's call to move their ministry to the Honduras bay island of Roatan. During their first year on Roatan, they served at an island clinic where they each worked within their trades, Paula in healthcare and James in facility maintenance and coordination of clinic volunteers.

The Anthony’s passion and focus has always been evangelism. So, once again, God called them to lay aside the work they had been doing and trust Him for a new direction.

Since April 2018 the Anthony’s have been in full-time evangelism partnership with Roatan Missions, in their island garbage dump ministry known as “Special Treasures” and “Bread For The Bight,” the new church plant in a squatters settlement on the eastern tip of Roatan.

Please pray for James and Paula in their new evangelism efforts on Roatan, building relationships with the indigenous people groups, as a practical means of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Past & Current Projects

Projects in 2022

In January 2022, we took a team of 9 to built a home for the family pictured above in Punta Caliente on a piece of land that we had purchased before the pandemic hit. In July 2022, we took a team of 20 to do ministry on the island and to build an on-site living quarters for a security guard and his wife at the Elaine Curtis Learning Center in Mudhole. Thank you to all of our donors for making this happen.

2021 Projects

In January 2021, Bay Island Impact funded and built a home for a family of six in the Brick Bay area of Roatan. The house (shown above) was special to this family because it belongs to them and can’t be taken away. In July 2021, Bay Island Impact funded and helped to build part of an addition to the rehab ministry in Coxen Hole called Jesus is the Solution. This addition included housing for women, a living quarters for one of the team leaders and a covered sports area in the courtyard of the rehab center. Thank you to all of our donors for making these projects possible.

School Uniforms

In Roatan, a student has to have a uniform to be able to attend school - even public school. For just $75, you can make sure that one student gets the chance at an education. This opportunity creates a chance to raise these children out of poverty so that they can have a chance at a better life. Without this opportunity, many of these children will repeat the pattern from previous generations.
